International Organization for Migration in Kazakhstan and Central Asia invites all stakeholders to participate in a panel session on "Migration and development in the countries of the Customs Union" at the VII Astana Economic Forum, which will be held on 21-23 May in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The panel session will be held at Palace of Independence in Astana on 22 May, at 11.30a.m., organized and moderated by the International Organization for Migration.

Ambassador William Lacy Swing has dedicated his career to public service on behalf of the United States of America and the international community. William Lacy Swing has ably led International Organization of Migration over the past five years.

Canadian Visa Application Center

Starting from September 25, 2013, Canadian Visa Application Center (CVAC) is operated by IOM Almaty according to the standards set by the Canada Immigration and Citizenship (CIC). CVAC is the exclusive service provider for the Government of Canada, authorized to accept applications in all temporary resident categories (visitor visas, study and work permits) and travel document applications from Canada’s permanent residents in Kazakhstan.

 In view of Canadian Embassy location in Moscow, Russian Federation which is charge of issuing visas and travel documents for Central Asian Region IOM Mission in Almaty, Kazakhstan is providing the visa facilitation services for the residents of its country willing to travel to Canada. Residents of Uzbekistan might receive similar services by applying for Canadian Visas to IOM Mission in Kazakhstan.

 

CVAC is authorized to provide administrative support services, such as:

• Visa applications review for completeness;

• Collection of visa applications and passports;

• Collection of biometric data for selected country individuals;

• Return of passports in sealed decision envelopes to applicants.
