II. Organizational Context and Scope

 

Under the direct supervision of the Specialist on Projects/Case Manager and overall supervision of Chief of Mission (CoM), the Incumbent supports ‘Counter Trafficking’ Project in Uzbekistan, implemented by IOM Central Asia with donor funding from the United States Agency for International Development - USAID, be assisting in operating Emergency Fund to support project beneficiaries and performs the following functions.

 

III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

 

  • Operates the Emergency Fund (EF) to support provision of timely and effective direct assistance to beneficiaries in rescue, sheltering, return, rehabilitation, and/or reintegration services upon request from IOM and/or partner-NGOs.
  • Assists in conducting an initial check of received application (documents) against the List of documents to be submitted for direct assistance. In case of missing document(s), the notifies the applicant (sender) to submit the missing documents.
  • Coordinates with the designated members of the EF Commission on consideration of the received applications for direct assistance.
  • Assists in liaising with partner organizations on provision of direct assistance within EF frameworks.
  • Assists in consideration of submitted business-plans/ideas.
  • Provides support to procurement activities related to the direct assistance, in line with IOM rules and procedures.
  • Collects and monitors reports, submitted by partner NGOs.
  • Assists in elaborating and delivering reintegration packages to project beneficiaries  (business-plans), in collaboration with partner organizations.
  • Assists in monitoring activities over provision of assistance within Emergency Fund.
  • Assist in maintaining the database of assisted project beneficiaries.
  • Contributes to project reporting, through preparation of requested tables, charts and other data.
  • Prepares success stories, basing on the cases of the assisted project beneficiaries.
  • Establishes and maintains photo database on assisted project beneficiaries.
  • Other tasks within the incumbent’s capacity, which might be assigned by the supervising person.

V. Education and Experience

 

a)    University degree (preferably in Psychology, Sociology, Law or relevant);

b)    Knowledge of migration related trends (including, but not limited to, counter-trafficking) related trends, processes in Uzbekistan/Central Asia and main destination countries is a strong asset;

c)    Previous similar experience is preferable.
